About the Health, Behavior and Society Summer Institute

The Health, Behavior and Society Summer Institute offers compressed, intensive courses that explore the social and behavioral sciences in public health.

Through the HBS Summer Institute, students have an opportunity to learn about critical topics surrounding behavioral and societal impacts on public health—and specific strategies to address the challenges they present.

Condensed Course Formats

While most of our full-term courses last for several weeks, our Summer Institute courses operate in an intensive, compressed format—ranging from one day to two weeks in length. Learn more.

Credit and Non-Credit Options

Take our HBS Summer Institute courses for academic credit toward a degree program or for non-credit, at a reduced cost.

Non-Degree and Current Student Enrollment

Registration for HBS Summer Institute courses is open to external participants, as well as current BSPH students enrolled in a degree or certificate program at the Bloomberg School. Learn more

Our HBS Summer Institute offers students a chance to discover a breadth of areas related to the social and behavioral sciences in public health, including health communication, health behavior change, qualitative research methods and skills, and more.
