Successful community-campus partnership efforts co-develop guiding principles and processes for completing their work. A variety of resources are provided to support community-campus partnerships between Johns Hopkins and Baltimore groups. Additionally, consultations are available to discuss a range of partnership activities.
Center for Adolescent Health
The Center for Adolescent Health’s ENGAGE toolkit is a comprehensive guide to help youth-focused organizations create and strengthen youth advisory boards. The manual provides step-by-step guidance in establishing connections with young people, bringing youth into advisory roles, and integrating youth advisory boards into programming

Centro SOL
Research consultation services for Johns Hopkins researchers and other universities interested in conducting high quality health research that involves Latinx populations, especially those with limited English proficiency (LEP). Services offered: (1) support for study planning (2) material review (3) participant recruitment strategy and (4) study staff recruitment strategy.
Institute for Clinical and Translational Research (ICTR)
Community Engagement Consultations provide feedback to research teams prior to conducting a study as well as guidance on how to disseminate their findings in the community. Consultations are provided by members of ICTR’s Community Research Advisory Council (C-RAC). The council consists of researchers, health care professionals, and community members. Consultations aid study teams by identifying issues and concerns from the community perspective.
SOURCE
SOURCE (the community engagement and service-learning center for the Johns Hopkins University schools of Public Health, Nursing, and Medicine) engages the University’s health-professional schools and over 100 Baltimore community-based organizations (CBOs) in mutually beneficial partnerships that promote health and social justice. The center responds to community-identified needs from its network of partnering CBOs to coordinate a range of public health practice service-learning course projects. Bloomberg School faculty and representatives from SOURCE partnering CBOs are eligible to participate in extensive training in critical service-learning pedagogy provided by the center.

Urban Health Institute
The Urban Health Institute (UHI) works across the University to advance health and health equity in Baltimore via a wide range of programs, events, and educational and funding opportunities designed to facilitate collaborations, mobilize resources, and advance dialogue and community representation.
UHI offers Baltimore Health Equity Impact Grants to support community-University collaborations around research and program development. Grants are awarded to those partnerships that most successfully demonstrate the potential for advancing the health and well-being of the residents of Baltimore.
The Community-University Coordinating Council (CUCC) provides guidance and assistance to the UHI by ensuring that the priorities of the UHI are in line with those of the University and the community. The CUCC assists UHI in developing its work plan, reviews progress on the work plan, and provides budget recommendations. The CUCC membership is evenly divided between University and community representatives and co-chair leadership is a shared by a community and a University member. The CUCC bylaws are provided as an example.
