Center for Implementation Research & Practice

Mission
To advance implementation science collaboration and academic offerings within the School of Public Health

The Center for Implementation Research & Practice was formed with the intention to jumpstart the Bloomberg School’s multi-disciplinary efforts in implementation science as well as to act as a bridge between the fields of public health research and practice. Current efforts to do so include:

  • Creating a new implementation science training certificate program
  • Conducting a high-level speaker series with experts in the field
  • Distributing a list of relevant new literature and featuring current Bloomberg School implementation science research
  • Offer mentorship in the form of an Implementation Science Fellowship program for Implementation Science HIV Early-Stage Investigators.
  • Provide consultation via didactic training, and consultation through the Mid-Atlantic CFAR Consortium (MACC) Hub

Despite substantial advancements in the development of effective interventions to improve population health, few are implemented at scale, with fidelity, and with equitable access for all. Implementation science is the study of methods and strategies that facilitate the delivery of evidence-based interventions to those who need them.
