  • Guidance on the preparation and submission of:
    • Initial submissions for new projects
    • Informed consent
    • Amendments and continuing reviews for existing projects

  • Answers to general questions
  • Resources related to IRB

The IRB Navigator is available Monday through Friday via email or Zoom, individually or in group/department settings. Please contact us at IRBNav@jh.edu to set up a meeting.

This service is run through the Institute for Clinical & Translational Research (ICTR) (not the IRB), and consultants are faculty members at the Berman Institute of Bioethics. The ICTR offers education, expert advice and resources to better equip study teams to conduct research that is ethical, relevant and responsive to the interests of patients and research participants. Note:  This service is not designed to “pre-review" submissions to the IRB nor to review or draft consent documents.
