Our continuing education (CE) program and our national and regional partners offer seminars, conferences and short courses to keep environmental and occupational safety and health professionals ahead of the industry’s changing regulations, compliance, and cultural demands.
Many of our short courses and seminars are approved for certification maintenance credits for professionals including educators, regulators, insurance underwriters, corporate attorneys, union representatives, commercial and real estate managers, corporate and business managers, manufacturing representatives, practicing occupational health nurses, physicians, safety engineers, and industrial hygienists.

Overview of Occupational Health Nursing Course
This online self paced course will help prepare occupational health nurses who plan to take the American Board for Occupational Health Nursing Certification (ABOHN) examination. Others interested in a comprehensive review of occupational health nursing may also enroll.

NIOSH Approved Virtual Spirometry Course
Collaboration between The Johns Hopkins ERC and M.C. Townsend Associates, LLC
- Comprehensive initial 2 1/2 day online course
- 1 day online refresher course
Designed for health professionals who conduct spirometry tests and/or interpret test results in industrial and clinical settings. The initial 2 1/2 day course is appropriate for those with no spirometry background as well as for experienced spirometry users.

CAOHC Approved Virtual Hearing Conservation Course
The purpose of this CAOHC-approved course is to provide instruction in audiometric testing through lecture and practicum experience for occupational health professionals who administer audiometric testing as required by regulations including the OSHA Hearing Conservation Amendment (29 CFR 1910.95) and the Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) Health Standards for Occupational Noise Exposure 30 CFR 62.
