Shigella Inpatient/Outpatient Study (CIR 373)

The Johns Hopkins CIR is looking for healthy volunteers to participate in an inpatient Shigella Vaccine study. The study has both an outpatient and inpatient portion. The purpose of this study is to find out if an experimental bioconjugate vaccine targeting 4 strains of Shigella, called Shigella4V2, protects people from getting sick from Shigella. If you are between the ages of 18 and 50, you may be eligible to participate. The study is around 7 months long, not including screening and requires the following:

  • Approximately 2 screening visits
  • 3 in-person visits
  • 1 admission
  • 2 phone calls

Eligible people will be compensated up to $4,420.
