ERC Occupational Injury Epidemiology and Prevention Program

The ERC Occupational Injury Epidemiology and Prevention (OIEP) program provides partial funding for students to obtain a PhD in Health Policy and Management. Trainees will work with other ERC students through interdisciplinary classes in subjects such as injury prevention, safety, quantitative and qualitative methods, prevention policy, and behavioral and social sciences.

Among the skills you’ll master are occupational injury risk analysis, assessment, and reduction; injury epidemiology; critical evaluation of research data and recognition of deficiencies in the literature; ability to analyze data and provide recommendations to prevent or control injuries in the workplace. OIEP trainees also learn about policy change and how to conduct policy-relevant research.

Trainees can register for required courses through the Johns Hopkins Department of Health Policy and Management.
