During a “What is Your Passion” icebreaker, participants shared and reflected upon the motivations behind their tobacco control work.

Eight tobacco control professionals from China met in Washington, D.C. during three days in August to attend the 2024 China Tobacco Control Seminar organized by IGTC. Participants included senior-level officials representing the national and municipal health commission, local CDC in China, academia, media, and non-profit sectors.

A combination of leadership training sessions, tobacco control economics discussions, and visits with representatives of key tobacco control organizations provided the group with experience to effectively develop, implement, and enforce effective tobacco control policy interventions in China.

In addition to group work and presentations, the participants got first-hand insights into the operations and global tobacco control initiatives of these organizations such as the Pan American Health Organization.
