Overview
With medical background and training in demography and epidemiology, I plan to continue my research endeavor in the following areas: a. reproductive epidemiology, including maternal mortality estimation; b. program evaluation for family planning and MCH care; c. health care utilizations: problems and issues d. quantitative research methods and complex population surveys. I am currently examining family planning challenges and the prognosis, changes in quality of life and social integration of women with obstetric fistula after surgical repair in developing countries.
I teach Methods in Survey Sampling (BIOS 140.640) and Methods in the Analysis of Large Population Surveys (PFRH 380.712) courses.
