Overview

Eleonor Zavala, MSPH '20, is a public health researcher with a focus on maternal and child health and nutrition in under-resourced populations. She has contributed to multiple randomized controlled trials assessing nutritional interventions to improve birth outcomes, maternal nutritional status, and child growth and development in Bangladesh and Nepal. Her recent work includes investigating implementation outcomes of balanced energy protein supplementation, the role of diet in the effectiveness of maternal nutritional interventions, and the effects of prenatal micronutrient supplementation on child behavior. Eleonor has collaborated with various organizations, including the World Health Organization and the World Food Programme, to advance global efforts to scale-up efficacious prenatal interventions to improve the well-being of mothers and promote healthy development of their infants.
