Sassan Noazin, PhD, MBA, is an epidemiologist who uses his expertise in epidemiology and statistics to design and analyze public health studies in low- and middle-income settings.
Experiences & Accomplishments
I have participated in the design, planning, management and analysis of public health studies in South America, Africa and the Middle East during my service as a biostatistician, epidemiologist and project manager at the World Health Organization (WHO) headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland, and as a post-doctoral fellow and subsequently, a faculty member at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health (BSPH) in Baltimore, MD, USA.
My experience includes parasitic and bacterial diseases including leishmaniasis vaccine trials in South America, Africa and the Middle East as well as Chagas disease, ETEC immunology and epidemiology and tuberculosis diagnosis in South America, meningitis epidemiology in North Africa (Sahel) and the global burden of pneumococcal disease. Additionally, I have participated as the biostatistician in the design and/or analysis of studies of gastric cancer, mental health including autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and tobacco use and control.
