course offers a global, interdisciplinary approach to reclaiming teen sleep
Addresses the public health challenge of adolescent sleep deprivation driven by excessive screen time, late-night device use, and inconsistent digital wellness education. Examines policy responses and school-based interventions from various countries and how such actions could be applied in the US through a global lens.
Learning Objectives
Upon successfully completing this course, students will be able to:
- Analyze interdisciplinary and global evidence on adolescent sleep and digital media behaviors
- Evaluate and design school-based and community-level interventions
- Translate research into practice through public health and education policy tools
- Create a Community Engagement Toolkit with audience-specific strategies to improve sleep and digital wellness
