Develops skills in the critical reading of epidemiologic reports. Reviews key epidemiologic concepts and methods including bias, confounding and interaction. Identifies the key issues and common mistakes in the preparation of epidemiologic reports of empirical research.
Learning Objectives
Upon successfully completing this course, students will be able to:
- Read and interpret reports of epidemiological studies
- Identify sources of bias in epidemiological findings and determine how they have been addressed in epidemiologic articles
- Identify the peer review process

Course will be taught online via Zoom, on the dates and times the course is scheduled. The students receive first drafts of papers submitted to the American Journal of Epidemiology in advance of the workshop for discussion during the workshop.
