Youth
MissionFit
About the Organization
MissionFit, provides a safe space, resources for health and an environment for continued personal growth.
Programs:
- Strength Club & Youth Wellness Partnerships: This program offers free fitness training and community classes to Baltimore residents up to age 24. Through open gym hours and partnerships with over a dozen organizations, we serve nearly 500 youth per year, fostering physical and emotional well-being through movement games and inclusive, safe space to exercise.
- Strength Ambassadors: Our flagship program designed for youth ages 16-22, Strength Ambassadors integrates job readiness with holistic wellness. Strength Ambassadors uses coaching and movement as tools to drive career readiness and leadership capacity. Participants develop skills in mindfulness, healthy eating, financial literacy, and coaching. Utilizing Baltimore City’s YouthWorks program during the summer and ongoing programming during the academic year, youth build employment readiness, deepen their understanding of personal fitness, and learn facilitation techniques to share knowledge with peers and family.
- Coach Development: in order to create more impact and develop a fleet of strong coaches, we have partners with Morgan State University to offer ongoing employment and internship opportunities. This program aims to add experience, quality, and experience for Sports Admin and Physical Education students, and bring more coaches into MissionFit’s program as mentors and leaders for Baltimore’s middle and high school students.
Community Classes: Our community programs, including fitness classes and donation-based workouts, reinforce our commitment to building a supportive fitness culture. These sessions provide families and individuals a space for wellness and social connection.
