About the Organization

Serves as a "one-stop shop" for families and individuals in crisis, providing a broad range of programs and services designed to help them achieve stability and build self-sufficient lives.

Involvement Opportunities

The Franciscan Center could not provide critical services to people in need without the dedicated and generous support of our volunteers, who share their time and talent in service to the poor and hungry citizens of Baltimore! A huge thank you to all who have served and continue to serve the Franciscan Center. The following weekly volunteer opportunities are available:

- Daily Lunch Program (Mon-Fri 9:30am-1:30pm) and Daily Dinner Service (Mon-Fri 5:00-7:00pm)

  • Plating and serving on the buffet,
  • Assisting guests in the dining room and
  • Helping in the dishwashing room.
  • Other assignments may include sandwich making, vegetable chopping, lunch assembly, cleaning projects, Administrative and front desk help.

- Food Distribution Events (every 4th Saturday of each month of the year. Two shifts: 8:30am-1pm)
Volunteers organize and distribute food to as many as 1,000 Baltimore City residents

- Saturday and Sunday Meal prep (for homeless shelters), 12pm-3pm

Under the instructions of our amazing chefs; volunteers will assist with building/prep of 500 breakfast, lunch, and or dinner meals for the city's homeless shelter. Anyone with nut allergies may want to take extra caution or choose a different assignment.
