Cornerstone Community Housing (CCH) is a community-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit incorporated in 1993. CCH was the vision of Rev. Eugene Bartell and volunteers at The Supper Club, a feeding program at First United Evangelical UCC and was inspired by Earl Johnson, a guest at The Supper Club. Earl and other guests put a face on “homeless” and raised awareness of the need for food and shelter. Realizing a need to do more than just feed people, Earl’s Place, a transitional housing program was opened in December 1997. Earl did not live to see the results of his inspiration, but his memory lives on through the many men who are helped.
Earl’s Place is located in Baltimore City and provides transitional housing and supportive services to 17 men at a time. Annually 30-35 men are provided housing and support to work on their goals
