About the Organization
Baltimore Crisis Response Inc. (BCRI) is the city’s first and only comprehensive crisis center. BCRI is a 501(C)3 non-profit behavioral health and crisis services organization. Since 1992, we have helped countless individuals overcome mental health and substance use disorders, regardless of ability to pay or time of day. Operating the 988 call center, 24/7 mobile response teams, crisis and substance use residential treatment, targeted case management, Law Enforcement Assisted Diversion (LEAD) project and community outreach and training, we work in partnership with other city providers to provide innovative ways to meet the needs of Baltimore City and Maryland’s communities. Our mission is to provide high quality behavioral health services and emotional support to individuals and communities navigating mental health and substance use challenges to ensure their health and well-being.
Involvement Opportunities
Crisis Stabilization and Addiction Treatment Units:
The crisis stabilization and addiction treatment units, provide a 24/7 short-term therapeutic supportive residential treatment environment within the community for individuals in behavioral health crisis.

Law Enforcement Assisted Division (LEAD) Program
The LEAD Program is based on a harm reduction philosophy, focused on providing intensive case management and peer support services to individuals who have committed or at risk of committing low level crimes. LEAD’s primary focus is to divert individuals in behavioral health crisis from entering the criminal justice system.
