Federal Work-Study Positions With SOURCE
SOURCE will be hiring several students to support our programs in 2024-2025. All applicants must be eligible for Federal Work-Study, and enrolled full-time at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health or the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing. Eligible applicants should have a FWS Employment Authorization Form (available through the student’s SIS account or Financial Aid Office). Program Assistants are expected to work 6 to 8 hours per week throughout 2024-2025 (ending in May 2025), and to fully participate in SOURCE Student Governing Board committee meeting(s) and activities.

Programs Assistant
The SOURCE Programs Assistant will provide support and guidance for several programmatic initiatives, including SOURCE’s HIV Counseling & Testing Program and service-based student group tracking and activities. The Programs Assistant will assist with the maintenance and follow-up of volunteer schedules; recruit student volunteers; plan, facilitate and evaluate the effectiveness of reflection sessions for student volunteers; and support student group leaders connected to SOURCE community engagement activities. Additional program support will be needed for other SOURCE activities and programs throughout the year.
Job Qualifications
- Experience in community-based public health
- Experience and/or interest working with diverse communities
- Ability to work collaboratively with others while connecting with various student leaders and/or community members
- Manage multiple priorities effectively and possess the ability to work independently
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office products (i.e. Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, etc.)
- Background and/or experience managing volunteers
- Basic data analysis skills and Qualtrics skills are a plus
Description of Duties
- Assist in recruitment of student volunteers and participants
- Update student participants about upcoming due dates, assignments, events
- Track completion of assignments and follow-up with any missing assignments
- Verify impacts in Hopkins Engage
- Track student group reporting of service activities
- Follow up with student group leaders regarding SOURCE opportunities, reporting, and other requirements
- Assistance with developing Monthly Newsletters for student group leaders
