Bloomberg School Wins Two Signal Awards, Five Anthem Awards, and Four CASE Awards

The Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health has won 11 new awards: two Signal Awards, four CASE Awards, and five Anthem Awards. Awardees included the Public Health On Call podcast, Hopkins Bloomberg Public Health magazine, and TCI University.

The Signal Awards recognize excellence in podcasts and audio production, and are judged by a panel of industry professionals. The Anthem Awards acknowledge global impact and purposeful projects and are the largest social impact award. The CASE Awards, presented by the Council for Advancement and Support of Education, honor excellence in advancement and highlight outstanding achievements. 

Public Health On Call

Public Health On Call, the School’s podcast, which brings together evidence and expert guests to make public health topics accessible, earned two Signal Awards and two Anthem Awards.

• The show won Silver in the Signal Awards in the Science & Education category.
• The limited series "Public Health On Call: Vaccines 101" won Bronze in the Signal Awards in the category of Limited Series & Specials, Science & Education.
• The podcast also won Gold in the Anthem Awards in the Health: Podcast or Audio category.
• The special episode "The Fight For A Swimmable Harbor in Baltimore City" won Silver in the Anthem Awards in the Health: Podcast or Audio category. 

Hopkins Bloomberg Public Health Magazine

Hopkins Bloomberg Public Health magazine takes readers inside the most vital issues facing public health today. The magazine covers the science, researchers, and people who can most benefit from advances in health. This year, the magazine was awarded two Anthem Awards and four CASE awards. 

• The article “CHARMED City” won Bronze in the Sustainability, Environment & Climate: Book, Story or Feature category in the Anthem Awards.
• The article “Sudden Impact” won Silver in the Health: Book, Story, or Feature category for the Anthem Awards.
• The magazine won Gold in the Circle of Excellence, Magazines | Alumni/General Interest (Targeted Audience) category for the CASE Awards.
• The magazine’s special issue on planetary health won Bronze in the Circle of Excellence, Magazines | Single Topic/Special Editions category for the CASE Awards.
• The article “Community vs. Coal: Reclaiming Health in Curtis Bay” won the Best of CASE District II Award in the Writing > Writing: News/Feature (1,000+ Words) category.
• The article series, “Planetary Health’s Front Lines” won the Best of CASE District II Award in the Writing > Writing: News/Feature (Series or Collection) category. 

TCI University

TCI University (TCI-U) is the digital learning platform of The Challenge Initiative, which empowers local governments in Africa and Asia to scale and sustain high-impact reproductive, maternal, newborn, and child health interventions. 

• TCI was awarded Silver for Best Education or Literacy platform in the Health: Product, Innovation, or Service category for the Anthem Awards.
