Meet Our New Associate Director!
Meet our new associate director Dr. Kendrick Gwynn! A Baltimore area native, Dr. Gwynn is a primary care physician at the Johns Hopkins Community Physicians Remington practice and is the assistant medical director for the Care, Coding and Revenue Enhancement (C-CARE) Team within the Office of Johns Hopkins Physicians. Dr. Gwynn will be working alongside Dr. Rachel Thornton on UHI Goal #3, "Advancing understanding and dialogue by including community voices to build trust and enhance pathways to health, well-being, and social justice in Baltimore". We look forward to the perspectives and ideas he will contribute to our team and mission of advancing health equity across Baltimore. Get to know Dr. Gwynn below!
Q: Where are you from?
A: Here! Family is all from Baltimore and grew up in Columbia
Q: What is your research focus? I tend to spend less time doing traditional research but my academic focus is health policy, social determinants of health and health equity.
A: What are you most passionate about? Eliminating health disparities
Q: As an associate director, what are you looking forward to most?
A: Helping to make Baltimore better by rebuilding trust with the community. B-more why be less?
Q:When not working where can we find you?
A: Pre- COVID times traveling and wandering city streets abroad while people watching. In times of COVID-19 in the kitchen cooking when I have the time.
Q: Favorite book?
A: Anything by Dan Brown
Q: What is an interesting/fun fact about yourself?
A: Traveled to 5 continents so far (and trying to make it 7 as a life goal, that includes Antarctica)

A: I’m committed to trying to make sure our communities are able to achieve their health and wellness
