Faculty from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health will be taking part in activities next week surrounding the third Women Deliver Conference in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The Women Deliver Conference is among the largest global events to focus on the health and empowerment of girls and women and will feature thousands of participants, including government leaders, policymakers and health care professionals.
Alain Labrique, assistant professor in the departments of International Health and Epidemiology, will also be participating in the conference. Labrique, who also leads the Johns Hopkins Global mHealth Initiative, will be discussing how mobile technology can be used to empower women and improve maternal health.

Also in Kuala Lumpur, Patti Gravitt, PhD, associate professor in the Department of Epidemiology, will be presenting the talk “Where We Are Today: State of the Global Disease Burden, Key Interventions and the Latest Tools and Technologies” at the Global Forum on Cervical Cancer Prevention. Gravitt served on the forum planning committee to help build support for increased use of HPV vaccines, screening tools and cervical cancer prevention and treatment programs worldwide.
