PhD student Anna Kaagesten leads youth training at international conference in Ethiopia
Research is only one of many opportunities to learn at the Bloomberg School. Just ask doctoral student Anna Kaagesten who recently led training for 400 young people from all over the world at the 2013 International Family Planning Conference in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
“What’s really cool about [the Bloomberg School] is all the opportunities that arise. You can just walk down the hallway and interact with both peers and professors,” says Kaagesten, who is researching early interventions in adolescent sexual and reproductive health
Her advice? “You need to be in the moment and take opportunities as they come around.”
