Published

Carolyn Fowler, PhD, MPH, an assistant professor with the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health's Center for Injury Research and Policy, has been awarded the prestigious President’s Award from the Safe States Alliance. The Safe States Alliance (formerly STIPDA) is a national non-profit dedicated to supporting state and local injury and violence prevention professionals.

The “President’s Award” recognizes a Safe States Alliance member who has been instrumental in assisting the president of Safe States in achieving the priorities of the organization, a primary one of which is to provide educational opportunities, training and professional development for those within the injury and violence prevention field.

“Training future leaders in injury control and research has long been my passion, and it’s truly rewarding to be recognized for this work,” said Fowler. “I want to extend my gratitude to Safe States for this special honor.”

In addition to her research and teaching responsibilities with the Center, Fowler serves as faculty director of the Center’s Summer Institute, “Principles and Practice of Injury Prevention.”
