Scott Zeger, PhD, professor and chair of the Department of Biostatistics at the School, is among the 25 most cited mathematical scientists of the last decade, according to Science Watch, a publication of the Institute for Scientific Information. Dr. Zeger ranked twelfth on the list, which included 18 biostatisticians.
The magazine cited his research in regression analysis for correlated responses. It noted that new methods for longitudinal studies have been applied to study the progression of HIV and that time series methods have been used in the analysis of the health effects of air pollution on death rates and disease.
