Madi Neufeld, MPS

Professional Profile

Ms. Neufeld is an Analyst at the Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security. Her primary research interests include disaster risk reduction, One Health, misinformation and disinformation, global catastrophic biological risks, and health security equity. 

Ms. Neufeld possesses a Master of Public Safety degree from Wilfrid Laurier University. Through her concentration in emergency management, Ms. Neufeld was able to focus her studies on evidence-based decision making and interoperability in the multidisciplinary arena of public health emergencies. Prior, she graduated with first class honors from the University of Calgary with a Bachelor of Health Sciences degree, majoring in health and society and concentrating in psychology. Her thesis, in conjunction with the Alberta Children’s Hospital safety board, investigated hospital policy regarding autopsy permission obtainment procedures.  

Her work experience includes conducting research in multidisciplinary settings, including clinical and policy-related research, all with direct application to translating findings into action for public health practitioners, policymakers, and the public.
