Professional Profile
Mr. Straus is a Policy Research Associate at the Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security. He brings experience working with the government and diverse groups of stakeholders to advance biodefense and pandemic preparedness polices domestically and internationally. Prior to joining the Center, he led the Biotechnology Innovation Organization’s (BIO) biodefense policy practice. At BIO, he specialized in advocacy for medical countermeasure development through public-private partnerships, manufacturing and supply chain security, global health security, and improved access to vaccines and therapeutics.
Mr. Straus graduated from Tulane University with a double major in history and political science. He is currently pursuing a Master of Public Health at Brown University. He is also an alum of the Center’s Emerging Leaders in Biosecurity Initiative (ELBI) fellowship.
