Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security’s COVID-19 Testing Toolkit Expands in Second Year

December 21, 2021 – The Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security will build upon and continually update The COVID-19 Testing Toolkit, a comprehensive website focused on COVID-19 testing and testing services, for a second year.

Since it was launched in February 2021, over 180,000 users have visited the toolkit. It is used by companies, individuals, and U.S. policymakers to help inform their COVID-19 testing strategies.

In its second year, the Toolkit will continue to provide essential information about testing, including data and decision tools in one trusted place. In addition, the Toolkit will expand to provide several new components, including identifying and detailing over-the-counter rapid tests, additional information on how to verify test results, and building a new tool that will help answer users’ frequent testing questions.

“More than ever, we rely on testing to make gathering safer, for work, school, or to be with friends and family,” said Dr. Gigi Gronvall, senior scholar at the Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security and associate professor in the Department of Environmental Health and Engineering at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, who is leading work on the Toolkit. “In the coming year, we look forward to sharing more real-world examples of how testing has been implemented in schools and workplaces and for travel; and providing the best testing advice and resources for reducing COVID risks.”

This second phase of this project is funded by Lyda Hill Philanthropies and the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation.
